It was important to really understand their goals and vision, also equally important on understanding how they operate daily or weekly. This required numerous meetings in/around a converted shipping container where they operate from. It really opened our eyes into the environment they work in from running workshops or planning strategies.
We had to dig deeper into the market of biodiversity to understand this field but also they area of NGO’s(non-governmental organisations) where they operate.

Design
The client had no previous design or style, as they currently have zero media presence so we took inspiration from the groups energy and fun/open approach they have but yet serious.
This lead to many ideations and come to a final design of a single page solution and create an immersive experience to take the user through the journey and use story telling to show the case they are fighting for.
We used illustrations to document the ‘biodiversity’ process and made a video to show the group, so it is a strong personal flavour. In hand shows there empathy.
A challenge that was faced was the information architecture to find the right flow.
Content we additionally included was a gallery with past projects they had achieved, this gives the user a true experience of what the organisation does and to inspire others, to consider the impact they are having.

Testing
Due to having an immersive single page solution with a subtle navigation flow it was essential we tested how the user would interact, also to get insights into how they feeling and thoughts they are having.
We set out to touch peoples emotions and raise the awareness as the client insisted of us.
The method used was a think-aloud test with set tasks and a predetermined score on performed action.
We also noticed that of those tested, it was their first experience with a single page solution that is portraying a message.

Social Media content
Another channel to explore for raising awareness is through social media.
To find topics for content we used the research to see what users wanted to see and what the client wishes to show off.
We focused on sustainability and key contributors of ‘biodiversity’ and the impacts they have. Content was targeted for a wider audience, if someone was only able to make a small change or if they wanted to make a greater change on behaviours with sustainability.
